Summerset's final week

Summerset's final week

7 Feb 2018

It's hard to believe that the 2018 Summerset Arts Festival is nearly over for another year.

This weekend is your last chance to soak up the sweet beachside vibes of the Sunset Veranda pop-up venue. Grab a drink from the bar and a bite to eat from our resident food truck The Fish Boss, then sit back and enjoy that famous Scarborough sunset.

There are plenty of laughs to be had this Thursday night with two great comedy shows at bargain prices; Australia's Funniest Shorts and Scarborough local Colin Ebsworth: Jokes Magotes. On the weekend get your dose of excellently dry wit from our favourite flâneur Marcel Lucont, and iffy wordplay mixed with first-rate nonsense from Alexis Dubus.

Looking for something for the family? Then come join us for a rip-roaring and swashbuckling circus adventure in Arrr We There Yet?. A scallywag pirate, a muscular sailor and a chef with a seafood allergy make for a hopeless crew as they fight for the title of Captain aboard the ship.

On Friday night, Summerset Arts Festival is proud to host a very special event: Recovery Stories. Western Australian Association for Mental Health's Recovery Stories Training program aims to use the power of storytelling to raise awareness of mental health issues, bust some stigma and promote the ultimate message that recovery happens. This intimate and uplifting performance will showcase the courage, humour, tragedy and triumph of those who journey with mental health issues. All profits from ticket sales support WAAMH and their work in community mental health and suicide prevention.

The FREE Summerset Concert takes over the lush surrounds of Stirling Civic Gardens this Saturday 10 February. Saying farewell to the festival with a musical treat and delicious eats, this all ages concert wil feature performances from the ridiculously talented Harts, rambunctious rockers The VANNS and exciting local acts The Money War and Elli Schoen. Just as tasty as the line-up will be the assortment of food on offer from some of Perth’s finest food trucks. With cuisine from all over the world there’s something to satisfy every tastebud. We’ve pulled together some hot tips on how to get there and make the most of your night here.
