The Summerset Concert will be the juicy cherry on top of the City of Stirling's Summerset Arts Festival, saying farewell to the festival with a musical treat and delicious eats.
Following the release of his critically acclaimed album Smoke Fire Hope Desire, multi-instrumentalist mastermind Harts
is coming to Stirling to headline our epic concert. Blending funk, rock, pop and soul, Harts’ genre free spirit has seen him championed worldwide. The late great Prince was even quoted as saying "He reminds me of how I was at that age"
after jamming with Harts at Prince’s Paisley Park Studios. Harts sensational musicianship and classic rock and funk influences have always drawn fans and critics alike to celebrate his music for having one foot pivoting in the past, while he shreds and wails his way straight into the future.
Supporting Harts is the rambunctious rock ’n' rollers The VANNS
who are sure to give you a good time. With their dynamic blues tinged rock’n’roll, the four-piece have seduced audiences around the country with catchy hooks, roaring guitars and unapologetically uplifting energy. With a new EP around the corner, it’s time to start getting excited with some new tunes set to hit the airwaves.
Joining them will be two emerging West Australian artists; The Money War and Elli Schoen (solo).
The Money War
was conceived during an American road trip when Dylan Ollivierre and Carmen Pepper were working out what to do following the breakup of their respective bands. During this highly creative period, they spent time with Arne Franger (Prince, Paul McCartney) and Tom Monahan (Devendra Banhart, Fruit Bats) and were convinced of the value of their new songs. Their music has since picked up radio plays and great reviews in Australia, the US and Europe.“The Money War give the '70s a modern indie-rock twist that is refreshing and infectious”,
Aneta Grulichova, The Music.
With her exquisite melodies, thoughtful lyrics, and powerhouse husky voice, Elli Schoen
is one of the most promising young acts to emerge from Fremantle’s rich music scene. Drawing on deeply personal experiences of love, friendship and heartbreak, her beautifully crafted songs are driven home by arresting vocals – and spliced with hilarious on stage banter. After a big 2016 and huge start to 2017, Elli looks set to put down the hair scissors once and for all.
