With 19 days of free and affordable events, the Summerset Arts Festival returned to the City of Stirling for it’s amazing tenth year in 2018.
From Wednesday 24 January to Sunday 11 February the festival transformed the City’s parks, buildings and neighbourhoods into pop-up venues, creative spaces and hubs of activity. Jam packed with comedy, music, circus, art, children’s activities and more, there was something for everyone in the 2018 program.
Celebrating the City’s unique lifestyle, diversity, heritage and culture, the festival attracted thousands of people to over 50 events all around the City of Stirling.
The festival kicked off with the free community event Seaside Spectacular
. Audiences were astounded by dazzling acrobatics, enchanting lolly pop lyras, trance-inducing mermaids, the fabulous Wadumbah Aboriginal Dance Group, and even a flying harpist.
The much loved Sunset Veranda Pop-up venue
returned to Scarborough for its best season yet, finishing up with 16 sold out events and 5 FRINGE WORLD Award nominations. Over 9,000 people enjoyed an exciting assortment of Fringe shows, delicious food, cold drinks and stunning sunsets.
The Summerset Concert
took over the lush surrounds of Stirling Civic Gardens on Saturday 10 February to farewell the festival with a musical treat and delicious eats. Headlined by the insanely talented Harts with support from The VANNS, The Money War and Elli Schoen, it truly was the cherry on top of an awesome festival sundae.
A huge 'Thank You' to all of our fabulous supporters, sponsors, artists, suppliers and vendors for making Summerset 2018 possible. And of course, thank you to everyone who came along to a Summerset Arts Festival event in 2018, as well as over the past decade. We could not have done it without your support, and look forward to bringing you more exciting events in 2019 and beyond.
