And that's a wrap - Summerset 2016
The annual City of Stirling Summerset Arts Festival returned in 2016 for its eighth successful year, with 17 incredible days of entertainment attracting over 30,000 people to more than 50 events throughout the City of Stirling.
Jam packed with music, comedy, circus, theatre, art, children’s activities and much more, the festival had something for everyone, transforming parks, buildings and neighbourhoods into pop-up venues, creative spaces and hubs of activity.
The stunning Sunset Veranda
pop-up venue was the festival highlight, returning to Scarborough Beach for another amazing season of Fringe World shows, free entertainment, food, drinks and much more! Popular shows such as Skinny Dip at Scarborough Beach
, Summerset Comedy Gala
and Arrr we there yet?
delighted packed audiences every day of the festival, with many also earning Fringe World award nominations. Other events such as the Blooms and Bubbles
workshops, free yoga sessions and live open-air acoustic performances were a great hit with crowds as well.
Audiences also flocked to Carine Open Space to see the impressive talents of Australian artists Saskwatch and Little May at the Summerset Concert
which celebrated the final weekend of the festival with a musical treat and delicious eats. Local artists Childsaint and Riley Pearce also delivered stellar performances.
Other festival highlights include Artists Open Studios, the Summerset Writers' Festival, Sunset Wine
and Summerset Community Jam
just to mention a few.
Planning for the 2017 Summerset Arts Festival is well underway and we want you to get involved. The City of Stirling is currently taking expressions of interest from artists, event producers, community groups, businesses, food vendors, staff and volunteers for our 2017 festival.
